1. Who these terms are with

PlasmidLab is run by an individual developer in the Republic of Korea, who is the other party to these terms. The operator's name is at the end of this page. These terms cover the website plasmidlab.com, the PlasmidLab app you download from it, and the free AI trial. By downloading or using any of them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.

2. Research use only

PlasmidLab is for research and teaching. It is not for clinical, diagnostic or therapeutic use, and it is not a medical device.

3. Check every result

Digests, PCRs, assemblies and gels in PlasmidLab are simulations on the sequences you open. AI answers can be wrong, including answers that the app's tools helped produce. Check every sequence, primer, junction and experimental condition yourself before you use it. No cloning outcome is guaranteed.

4. Licence to use the app

This section is the end user licence for the PlasmidLab app. The app is licensed to you, not sold. You may install it on computers you use and use it for personal, academic and commercial work.

You may not:

redistribute the app or its installers (link to plasmidlab.com instead);
sell, rent or sublicense the app;
reverse engineer, extract or reuse the trial credentials, or use the trial relay outside the app;
work around the trial's run limit, for example with extra accounts.

Open-source parts of the app stay under their own licences, which are listed in the app. These terms do not limit what those licences allow.

5. The free AI trial

The trial gives 10 AI runs per account on Claude Haiku. After that, you can connect your own Claude, Codex or Grok subscription or API key, and that provider's terms and charges apply. The trial is for people aged 18 or older and is not offered where Anthropic's API is not available. We may change or end the trial, or block an account that misuses it. The privacy policy says what the trial keeps.

6. No warranty

PlasmidLab, the trial and this website are provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise that they are error-free, always available or fit for a particular purpose.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, PlasmidLab and its operator are not liable for any loss or damage from using or being unable to use PlasmidLab, the trial or this website. That includes lost experiments, materials, data, time or profits. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as liability for intent or gross negligence.

Gibson Assembly, Gateway, TOPO, In-Fusion, NEBuilder, Q5, SnapGene, Benchling, Claude, Codex, ChatGPT, Grok, Google and Apple are trademarks of their owners. PlasmidLab is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. This does not take away consumer rights you have under the law where you live.
